چکیده

Neoadjuvant immunotherapy (NIT), although currently not a standard of care, is evolving as promising treatment strategy for patients with localized deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) colorectal cancer (CRC). NIT checkpoint inhibitors often utilized outside clinical trial in surgically unfit dMMR CRC. We performed National Cancer Database (NCDB) analysis to evaluate the adoption trend CRC and their overall survival (OS) after receiving NIT. queried >18 years age, diagnosed stage II or III between 2010 2020 received Descriptive statistics were demographics clinicopathologic characterization, 3-year OS was determined by Kaplan-Meier method. Out 3,919 cancer, 57 (1.5%) neoadjuvant immunotherapy. 32 (56.1%) had colon 25 (43.9%) rectal cancer. The median age cohort 53 (95% confidence interval [CI], 45-64), % female, 6 (10.5%) Charlson-Deyo score 2 more. primarily consisted non-Hispanic White population (70.2%). 19 (33.3%) 38 (66.7%) There increase usage recent years: 2014-2017, 11 (19.3%) year 2018, 17 (29.8%) 2019, 23 (40.4%) 2020. Following NIT, 56 (98%) underwent curative-intent surgery. In addition, 44 (77%) systemic chemotherapy (30 setting 14 both adjuvant settings), (44%) radiation. rate 88.8% CI: 68.7-96.3). Patients (65.2%) mostly treated at tertiary/academic center private insurance (50.9%). utilization uncommon thus far but has shown an uptrend years. Receipt associated excellent

Heterogenous mismatch-repair status in colorectal cancer

BACKGROUND Immunohistochemical staining for mismatch repair proteins is efficient and widely used to identify mismatch repair defective tumors. The tumors typically show uniform and widespread loss of MMR protein staining. We identified and characterized colorectal cancers with alternative, heterogenous mismatch repair protein staining in order to delineate expression patterns and underlying me...
